Located in the beautiful region of Abruzzo, Bella Vita Italian Vacations specializes in cycling tours and cultural exploration around Italy.

We strive to create memorable vacation holidays that allow our clients to experience Italian life through custom-tailored cycling adventures and personal cultural experiences. Our custom vacation holidays are non-touristy, hassle-free and allow you to truly experience Italy.

Based out of the quaint hillside town of Roio del Sangro - amongst nature reserves, medieval ruins, scenic lakes, vineyards, olive groves and the Adriatic seashore - Bella Vita Vacations will not only help you explore and appreciate 'the untouched Italy', but will also venture out to other regions, such as Umbria, Toscana, Lazio (Rome), Lombardia (Lake Como), Veneto (Venice) and Trento Alto Adige (Dolomites).

In addition to custom trips, we plan vacation packages around Italian cycling events. These vacations are geared toward cycling enthusiasts who want to experience world-class cycling in all it's glory - riding portions of the course, watching the parade of promotional vehicles and cheering on the peloton on the side of the road - in addition to sightseeing.

About Mark & Kristine:

Mark is a true cycling enthusiast and life-time cycling competitor. At an early age, Mark began his accomplished cycling career in BMX growing up in Michigan. Upon moving to southern California in 1987, Mark pursued a professional mountain bike racing career throughout the '90's and worked for several bike companies including Sachs Bicycle Components, Marzocchi, and Answer/Manitou. While working at Marzocchi S.p.A. and traveling to Bologna, Mark became enamored with Italy and the European cycling scene. Mark moved to the Kansas City area in 2004 and currently splits his time between living in Kansas City and Italy. He is still active in cycling as an elite level cyclocross and mountain bike competitor. Mark's 'bella vita' is sharing his favorite pastime - pedaling around the Italian countryside - with anyone that will hop on a bike and follow him.

Kristine is an accomplished design and marketing professional. Designing, developing and sourcing products around the world for companies such as Gymboree, Williams-Sonoma, Inc., Discovery Channel and Hallmark, she has a keen appreciation of world culture. Through her many travels to Italy, she fell in love with the generosity of the Italian people and the immense culture the country offers. On a solo holiday to Italy, she vowed to learn the language and live there someday. A California native, Kristine moved to Kansas City in 2002.  Kristine's 'bella vita' is sharing her passion for Italy's cultural treasures - art, history, food, wine, shopping, scenic landscapes and it's wonderful people.
